I was in a wheelchair for 16 years and didn’t want to exercise because it hurt. ¬†But I soon realized that as I started my Recovery From Fibro I needed exercise if I was ever going to walk normally again. ¬†Dr. Teitelbaum always says “only exercise as you are able”. ¬†If we exercise beyond what our body can¬†tolerate¬†then we become sore and don’t want to exercise the next time. ¬†Start by walking short distances daily, then work you way up till you are able to walk 10,000 steps a day.
I am now able to walk most any place that I want.  Not long ago we took some friends to Zion National Park and Brice Canyon National Park.  This was the first time that I had been there, not in a wheelchair.  It was amazing to me that I could walk, climb hills and see what I wanted.  Yes I did rest coming back and had my friend drive.  But it was amazing to be able to get views and pictures from places that I had never been able to see before.
